Datacenter Engineer - near Kortrijk, Belgium
Languages: ENGLISH with FRENCH (essential)
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in computer science.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of the following:
- Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Windows Server 2009, 2012 and 2016
- Linux RedHat
- IBM i V7R1
- Nagios (monitoring tools)
- CommVault (back up solution)
Description of work:
- Manages the entire computer infrastructure put into production on a daily basis (networks, systems, databases and applications).
- Ensures that users access their IT tools in the best conditions.
- Participates in the development of high availability and continuity of services strategies, including backup strategy and server security.
- Administers storage spaces and databases.
- Manages breakdowns and their follow-up with suppliers.
- Collaborates with project teams (systems and applications) in the implementation of new applications.
- Tracks and updates systems and applications in collaboration with system teams, business applications, and vendors.
- Performs proactive monitoring of the entire network, databases, systems, batches [1] and data flows. This activity involves the use and configuration of software controllers, but also the writing and application of manual procedures.
- As part of the information transfer flows between applications (EAI and gateways ...), performs the first check for transfer errors.
- Participates in the role of computer guard, if the direction of the department deems it necessary.
