DOCSIS Project Manager

Vienna (3 Month Contract)

Profile:

A skilled DOCSIS engineer with CMTS/CCAP experience who can work at customer/operator premises coordinating internal departments. A person with initiative, good relation skills and some sales/opportunity acumen.

Language: German (fluent/native preferable) and English.

Location: Vienna, Austria. Mostly at customer site but also remotely.

Duration:3 months but with further extensions depending on results.

General activities description

o Prepare Node plans

  • Based on the input of Capacity Planning and/or Engineering
  • Preparation includes - CMTS and E6000/CCAP layout on the basis of AT Channel-Setup and Templates, Slot and Connector assignment

o Create and update project plan/time lines for CMTS installation related activities which includes:

  • Rollout Plan (eg Software upgrades, configuration changes )
  • Migration Plan and Steps ( eg DS/US upgrades, Cell Splits, New Builds, C4 to E6000 Migration,..)
  • Resource Plan (incl. personnel resources, holidays and bank days)
  • Raise and manage associated Change Requests

o Coordinate with UPC internal departments (local regions, build departments, HFC Engineering, IP Network Operations (core/northbound and CMTS port side) IP Engineering, UPC Corporate CTO, IP Adress Pool team, CMTS Engineering) and external partners (Witke, ARRIS)

  • Administrative and technical Person of contact for all involved Departments and external partners

o Manage UPC internal CMTS installation related Change Requests

  • Staging
  • C4 or E6000 Configuration
  • Handover to Operation

o Use Internal Monitoring Tool

o Create playbooks and agree with/submit to partners

o Update Documentation

o Review and map of internal UPC processes
