For a project we are looking for a:

Software developer (m/f/d) in building or industrial automation domain (OPC UA, BACnet/IP) ID

Project duration:
Project volume: 432 hrs remote, 48 hrs onsite
Project location: Remote, Essen

Project goals:
- Analysis of the existing implementation of the EIS IoT Gateway
- Define architecture roadmap in order to meet stakeholders’ requirements
- Implement further protocols OPC UA and BACnet/IP in order to manage new assets while maintaining existing functionality of the gateway
- Ramp-up DevOps resources for further development and fleet operations

Project state:
- EIS Gateway is in rollout supporting protocols Modbus/RTU, Modbus/TCP and M-Bus and sending data to clients’s IoT platform

Your Responsibilities:
• You design, build, and maintain efficient, scalable and reliable code for an IoT gateway to connect our assets in the field to our IoT Platform
• You implement automation protocols like OPC UA or BACnet/IP and the necessary business logic to retrieve asset data
• You steer the architectural development of the gateway with its protocol and cloud connectivity modules
• You build and maintain/operate the DevOps environment for the gateway
• You define and implement IoT security features required for safe remote operations
• You take accountability to provide guidance and troubleshooting in collaboration with project team members (DevOps).
• You maintain up-to-date knowledge of technologies and trends in automation industry

Your Profile:
• You have at least 5 years experience of software development in building or industrial automation domain
• You are familiar with modern automation protocols like OPC UA and BACnet/IP; Modbus is a plus
• Familiarity with linux user space and developing linux based hardware (Raspberry PI)
• You have a proven track record to build robust, yet flexible software architectures that cope with dynamically changing business requirements
• You are experienced in development using NodeJS, GoLang and Python
• You have worked with Azure IoT infrastructure and services as well with container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker and Azure IoT Edge
• Good understanding of messaging technologies, architecture, inter process communications and API development
• You have experience in DevOps tools (Gitlab, Artifactory) and agile enablement tools (JIRA, Confluence, Miro)
• You are able to challenge architectures and explain your technical decisions to business stakeholders
• You are a strong team player (m/f/d) with the ability to work with diverse, international group of people
• Very good English and basic German skills required
