I am looking for a Software Developer to provide agile support for the maintenance, enhancement, and partial modernization of existing IT Service Management (ITSM) and legacy applications. The role offers flexible workload allocation (20%-60%).
Project:
Start: ASAP
Capacity:Part-time
Initial Duration: first contract until the end of year (extension expected afterwards)
Remote and on-site Share: Remote or on-site possible
Project languages: German (Fluent) English (Fluent)

I am looking for a Software Developer to provide agile support for the maintenance, enhancement, and partial modernization of existing IT Service Management (ITSM) and legacy applications. The role offers flexible workload allocation (20%-60%).

Responsibilities
- Develop scripts and minor customizations for existing ITSM platforms, primarily HaloITSM and Redmine.
- Support automation and application enhancements using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
- Analyze, maintain, and implement changes in undocumented or partially documented legacy applications.
- Perform partial refactoring of existing systems to improve maintainability and performance.
- Integrate and consume REST APIs for system interoperability.
- Work with Python, JSON, and related technologies to implement solutions and automate processes.
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and deliver practical fixes within agile timelines.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to rapidly implement business and technical requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Python development and scripting.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, web services, and data exchange formats such as JSON.
- Experience working with ITSM solutions (preferably HaloITSM, Redmine, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms).
- Ability to understand and modify existing codebases with limited or no documentation.
- Experience supporting legacy applications and performing code refactoring.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot is an advantage.
- Independent, pragmatic, and solution-oriented working style.
- Comfortable working in agile and dynamic environments.
