One of Energize’s clients is looking for a freelance SAP Technical Project Manager to lead a Basis team supporting a large SAP landscape and upcoming upgrade and migration activities.
The successful candidate will coordinate a team of SAP Basis consultants across approximately 40 SAP systems, including ECC and S/4HANA. The focus is on technical stability, project planning and stakeholder management rather than hands-on system configuration.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate a team of approximately 5–6 SAP Basis consultants.
- Plan and oversee SAP migrations, upgrades, patching and maintenance activities.
- Support the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA across the landscape.
- Coordinate resources, dependencies, timelines and priorities.
- Manage customer expectations and communicate progress, risks and blockers.
- Support technical decision-making and maintain system stability.
- Work with internal teams and external partners in a high-pressure environment.
Your profile:
- Experience as a Technical Project Manager within SAP environments.
- Good understanding of SAP Basis, ECC and S/4HANA.
- Experience managing SAP upgrades, migrations and maintenance projects.
- Strong planning, people management and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to challenge unrealistic timelines and stand behind technical decisions.
- Comfortable coordinating international technical teams.
- Dutch and English language skills required.
Details:
- Start: 1 December preferred.
- Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential extension to 12 months.
- Location: Customer site in the Netherlands.
- Hybrid: Approximately 3x days onsite, 2x days remote
- Workload: Up to 36 hours per week.
- Languages: Dutch and English required.
