Job Description:
As a (Senior) Network Engineer, you will be part of an 8-person team responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of ICT services (network connectivity and data center housing services) provided to over 200 companies. Your focus will be on managing, maintaining, and securing the network environment, which includes 600 Cisco switches, 1,400 Cisco Access Points and WLCs, FortiGate firewalls, 700 VLANs, managing 50,000 MAC addresses per month, and overseeing 630m² of data center housing facilities. You will proactively monitor the environment to prevent and resolve incidents, prepare and implement changes using custom tooling, and participate in project execution. You will also serve as a point of contact for daily network technical matters. The role requires on-site presence.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the network lead to prioritize tasks.
- Actively monitor network components and services.
- Analyze abnormal network behavior.
- Respond to and further analyze alerts from monitoring tools.
- Serve as a technical expert for the department.
- Resolve network disruptions (both proactively and reactively).
- Maintain direct contact with clients.
- Perform network environment maintenance.
- Participate in various projects.
- In this role, the balance of network knowledge vs. automation is 70/30.
Requirements:
- A completed HBO ICT degree (or higher).
- CCNP Enterprise knowledge and/or certification.
- Experience configuring/managing/setting up Cisco Wireless environments.
- Extensive knowledge in routing/switching, wireless, and firewalling.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix (CentOS/Debian).
- Knowledge of Bash scripting.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with network automation (Ansible, NetConf, YANG, JSON, Expect, etc.).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting DHCP/DNS.
- Experience with VMware virtualization.
- Experience with FreeRADIUS.
- Work experience in service provider and/or enterprise environments.
