Beschreibung
An international company in the energy sector, operating as a European transmission system operator, is looking for a Business Process Manager for its National Control Center (NCC). The Business Process Managers at the NCC are driven by the ever-changing energy landscape for system operation, changing national and EU regulations and the continued integration of European electricity markets. They ensure that market and system-design evolutions, policies and digital capabilities are translated into coherent, safe and executable control room processes.
Anchored in Operations, the Business Process Manager is the operational process integrator between NCC operational teams, market product lines and IT product teams, ensuring that operational requirements are structurally represented throughout market design, solution discovery, delivery, operational introduction and run. For this assignment, the NCC is looking for a team reinforcement to work on business-critical processes in the domains of congestion management, operational planning and real-time grid operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of business-critical operational processes, including:
- Grid security analysis processes: advanced congestion management processes assessing grid security from year-ahead to intraday by determining optimal preventive and/or curative remedial actions to maintain operational security.
- Grid model forecasting processes: "digital twin" processes that model and accurately forecast the state of the grid from year-ahead to intraday.
- Outage planning processes: optimizing the planning of grid works to balance a maximum of outage requests, flexibility for increasing planning volatility and a high security of supply for grid customers.
- Real-time grid operations: processes supporting the real-time operation of the transmission grid, including system monitoring, operational coordination and alarm management, closely linked to SCADA and EMS.
- Processes supporting the management of dynamic phenomena on the grid through the integration of DSA (Dynamic Security Analysis) and WAMS (Wide-Area Monitoring System) into the control room.
- Use operational experience, event analyses and insights to identify new business use cases, drive process improvements and shape future operational capabilities.
- Own and continuously improve end-to-end operational processes, ensuring they are coherent, safe and executable across the operational domains.
- Translate market and system designs, policies and business capabilities into operational processes, including workflows, roles, decision logic and procedures.
- Represent operational requirements in the design of new market products, business capabilities (national or EU level) and local digital solutions; lead the ideation and analysis of new operational needs, align with product teams on backlog and priorities, and support them during implementation.
- Lead the operational integration of new tools and capabilities, including readiness assessment, training, procedures, go-live and hypercare, together with the product teams.
- Act as process reference for operators and stakeholders, support operational questions and incidents, and turn lessons learned into sustainable process improvements.
Qualifications
- You can speak, read and write fluently English and French or Dutch.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or another relevant technical field.
- Expertise in power systems gained through academic studies and/or professional experience is a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the energy sector supporting system operations is a plus (e.g. planning or system engineer, business analyst).
- Relevant experience as a business stakeholder supporting the IT development of digital solutions for operational processes.
- Experience in congestion management at national or cross-border level (Coordinated Security Analysis) is a strong plus.
- Soft skills: client-oriented, excellent analytical skills, excellent communication, structured, data-minded (e.g. data error analysis), conceptual and process thinking.
