Data Engineer | Fully Remote in EU | 12 Month Contract

About the Role
Our client is building an enterprise data backbone to support AI, analytics and self-service access to trusted business data.

As a Data Engineer, you will join the DataOps team, working alongside the technical lead to develop, maintain and optimise the data platform that underpins the organisation's AI strategy.
This role will focus on integrating, transforming and preparing data for consumption through Denodo, Snowflake and Power BI while ensuring high standards of governance, quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations
  2. Support the rollout and optimisation of the Denodo data marketplace
  3. Develop and enhance data solutions within Snowflake
  4. Prepare and transform complex datasets for business consumption
  5. Resolve complex data engineering challenges and edge-case scenarios
  6. Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability across multiple data sources
  7. Work closely with DataOps to implement governance, metadata and data standards
  8. Collaborate with business teams to understand data requirements for AI and analytics
  9. Support Power BI reporting by delivering trusted, high-quality datasets
  10. Optimise data performance and recommend improvements to the enterprise data platform
  11. Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer

Skills & Experience
  1. Strong experience as a Data Engineer within enterprise environments
  2. Experience developing modern data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  3. Hands-on experience with Snowflake
  4. Experience working with Denodo or other data virtualisation platforms
  5. Strong SQL skills
  6. Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems
  7. Understanding of data governance, data quality and metadata management
  8. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
