Led the addition of new features to a large JavaFX application
and created manuals for knowledge transferring.

By the end of 2019, I made the decision to slow down my
professional career and prioritize my personal development.
This led me to embark on a two-year journey around Australia. I
undertook several freelance projects, some of which include:

Created a comprehensive test suite from scratch for a
Java-backend project. Developed missing tests and
Refactored portions of the code to adhere to best practices
and design patterns, ensuring testability.
Upgraded to Java 8 custom libraries. Refactored code to
leverage new features like lambdas, futures, and the Stream
API.
Led the refactoring of a JavaFX application. Applied the
MVVM pattern to decouple the view from the logic.

I was part of a team responsible for incorporating applications
into a pool of applications.

Guided the creation of four applications through the entire
software life cycle. From requirements definition to
successful deployment.
Worked with SW architects to align the new applications with
the general architecture and proposed and implemented new
REST APIs to incorporate our team's apps.
Guided the development team in implementing the designs of
the applications using Java/JavaFX best practices.
Split existing monolithic applications into front-end/back-end.
Worked closely with domain experts and managers to fulfill
customer requirements on time by prioritizing tasks
effectively.
Visited customers during the requirements definition stage
and developed proof of concepts on site to engage them in
early phases.

Graduated from the Software Technology program. It is an
accredited and challenging two-year, third-cycle
(doctorate-level), engineering degree program during which its
trainees focus on strengthening their technical and
non-technical skills. It is designed to prepare the trainees for an
industrial career as a technological designer, and later on as a
software or system architect.

I implemented the controlling software for a printer finisher
using Live Sequence Charts for OCE (Cannon). I was responsible
for project planning, requirement specification, implementation,
and validation & verification.
