9 years of experience. In 4 months, I understood the project and was promoted to Team Lead. After that, I continued to spend 50% of my time on engineering activities and coding. I take ownership, dive into complex systems and proactively highlight risks. Tech stack: ASP.NET Core, C#/.NET, MS SQL, Azure, Docker; also Angular, React, TypeScript.
For the past 4 years, I have been working on an e-assessment system from the UK: distributed monolith with 8 large web-applications, 20 000 concurrent exam sessions, 3 000 write RPS, 15 000 C# classes and 600 stored procedures in MS SQL.
Also, I worked on integrating Azure OpenAI and Vector Search into the product and GitHub Copilot into development processes.

Projekthistorie
Hybrid role includes supporting two teams (4 developers and 1 QA Engineer each) and software development.
Dived deeply into product parts, then shared the knowledge with teams in meetings or pair-programming sessions. Contributed to the product, shared libraries and infrastructure.
Hired developers, onboarded them, conducted 1:1 meetings, initiated terminations (low performance). Prepared team capacity before release, helped to manage features' scope to make sure it'll be delivered on time.
Achievements:
- Introduced a caching layer which reduced costs of Azure Vector Search and Azure OpenAI for sorting/filtering and paging requests with the same keywords.
- Added a short-term caching layer, which reduced cross-service authorisation calls by 70%.
- Developed a wrapper around the OpenTelemetry library, which reduced code duplication while integrating OTEL into legacy HTML/JS projects. Suggested a design of a lightweight proxy to hide the connection string to Azure Application Insights to receive only authorised telemetry.
- Using GitHub Copilot, I quickly validated an Angular upgrade plan from v12 to v21. Identified risks and suggested reducing the scope to avoid risks. Finally, the team completed the upgrade in the planned timeframe.
- Integrated MCP-server into a backup of the previous task-tracking system, which allowed Product Owners and Developers to search historical features faster using AI, which was helpful in the absence of any documentation.
Set the team's technological direction, supported high code quality standards, led complex-case investigations across different layers, made risky technical decisions, performed code reviews for my team and other teams.
Defined requirements for opening positions, conducted technical interviews, onboarded newcomers. Led cross-team activities: building a skill matrix for Software Engineers, describing the system using C4 diagrams to make onboarding more efficient.
Achievements:
- Found low-effort refactoring instead of massive changes around "controller-service" level, which allowed us to reuse business logic in a background process without spending much time on this.
- Integrated Storybook into the React component library, which made the feedback loop shorter while migrating Knockout.js/jQuery components to React.
- Completely redesigned the "questions list" component and applied virtualisation, which solved the customer's problem of viewing 5000 questions on one web-page. The previous version slowed down the web-browser at 1500 questions.
- Integrated Allure Reports into Selenium end-to-end tests, based on the report broken tests were prioritised above failed tests, which gave the team more reliable results.
High-complexity e-assessment platform: 8 monolithic highly coupled web-applications, 20 000 concurrent exam sessions, 3 000 write RPS, more than 15 000 C# classes and more than 600 MS SQL Stored Procedures, composite frontend.
Tech Stack: React, Angular, WinForms, MS SQL + ETL + Service Broker, Azure Blob Storage, MSMQ, deployment to IIS and partially to Azure App Service. Custom deployment system (server + agent).
Worked with fast-changing requirements, spotted gaps, investigated cross-service issues, upgraded dependencies with breaking changes.
Achievements:
- Quickly completed onboarding and updated relevant documentation to make future onboarding smoother.
- While deprecating an old feature I suggested adding compatibility flag to the API for internal use, over the next two years it made regression testing faster as we avoided direct DB changes.
