Test Engineer/Specialist for Test - Automation
Role Overview
The Professional Test Engineer for our IT environment possesses good know how of the testing components and the tool. He/She is responsible for test case design and the creation of test scenarios, development of test scripts and the development and maintenance of our Test Automation Toolset.
Furthermore, execution of functional and non-functional test cases and the documentation of test results is within his/her responsibilities.
Tasks
- Execute functional and non-functional test cases
- Evaluate test results and document test results into the tracking tool
- Automate test cases as appropriate and feasible
- Maintain and enhance existing Test automation Toolset
- Consult projects by identifying test - automation needs
- Support test effort estimations
- Report to the test manager in creating test related reports and test plans
- Suggest enhancements on test process if applicable
- Analyze requirements, specifications, design documentation and other project
- Documentation
- Design functional and non-functional test cases
- Create test data
Technical Skills
- Very good knowledge in SQL
- Good Test automation knowhow in various environments (eg jbehave, HP UFT, Loadrunner, Scripting)
- Good knowledge on data base systems (eg Teradata, Oracle, Informix)
- Good knowledge HP Quality Center (ex Test Director)
- Good knowledge on the defect life cycle
- Good knowledge in Shell Scripting
- Basic knowledge in UNIX
Qualification
- HTL, or Bachelor degree in a technical study
- Very good written and spoken command of English and German language
- Certificate in software quality assurance (eg ISTQB)
- Optional/favorable education: Masters degree in a technical study
Experience
- Experience in software development
- At least 3 years of software quality assurance
- Experience in data warehouse testing
- optional/favorable experience: batch interface testing & domain knowledge in banking
