Job Title: Business Systems Analyst / Contractor
Specialisation (if applicable): Insurance
Location: Frankfurt, Germany

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities included in this role:
• Interact extensively with business stakeholders. Develop an excellent understanding of business implications of I.S. decisions
• Work with I.S. and Business Stakeholders to understand the business architecture and the high level business drivers
• Critically understand the business stakeholders’ operations and systems. Analyse and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs
• Elicit, understand and clarify the requirements of the business stakeholders
• Translate requirements into business and functional specifications
• Provide input to project and resource planning, budgeting, and implementation strategy.
• Work collaboratively as part of the Project Leadership Team
• Work with Systems Architects to determine potential solutions and test them for both technical and business compatibility
• Contribute to project feasibility reports and assist with presenting convincing proposals to the business stakeholder
• Work with the software developers, 3rd party vendors, and End Users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
• Supervise proper implementation of a new system. Undertake system test planning and supervise execution. Work with Test and QA Analysts to develop a test strategy and schedule for completing the system operations and handover to production

Selection Criteria:
Essential Skills and Experience:
• 3rd level education preferably in a technical discipline, or equivalent technical experience
• Fluent English
• Fluent German
• Minimum of 6 to 8 years experience in I.T. with at least 3 years as a Systems Analyst in a large corporate environment with multiple business applications
• Experience working as a Business Systems Analyst in the German Insurance Industry
• Experienced in detailed analysis techniques with the ability to translate into comprehensive documentation which can be understood by Business stakeholders and I.S. alike.
• Highly experienced in producing high quality documentation and guiding this through revisions and sign-off by the business
• Experience working with a UML design and business analysis tools such as Enterprise Architect.
• Knowledge of XML, and XSD with the ability to write pseudocode
• Good understanding of systems infrastructure, platforms, databases, networks and security
• Ability to plan, test, implement, and troubleshoot systems software
• Ability to analyse situations and make solid decisions, using good judgment
• Strong understanding of insurance business practices and processes and a good understanding of the business implications of I.S. decisions
• Experience working with recognised application/service delivery processes and methodology
• Excellent communication skills
• Self motivated with a positive and flexible attitude
• Excellent team player
• Ability to set and work to strict project deadlines
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience working with flowcharting tools such as MS Visio
• Experience working on eBusiness, Web Application and Web Services projects & programmes
• Some knowledge of Data Modelling/Dimensioning, OLAP Cube Design, Visualisation.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
• The successful candidate is expected to:
o Be educated to technical degree level, or equivalent experience
o Have at least 8 years industry experience with at least 3 years as a Systems Analyst in the Insurance Industry in Germany
o Be a dynamic individual who is a motivated self starter
o Have excellent communication skills with a ‘can do’ attitude
o Have excellent influencing skills
