Key Responsibilities
Job Purpose
- L3 Informix Database Administrator for supporting leading financial bank.
- Manage L2/L3 production/project support activities.
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Expert in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- Secondary skills required for supporting Sybase Databases when needed.
Job Scope
- Should have handling production/project support L2/L3 Incident & Change Management.
- Certification is added advantage
- Experience of high availability and DR configuration and setup is desired.
Key requirements:
- Regular application & production support (ticket solving) and maintenance (enhancement) work.
- Besides 4GL programming skills, profile should be proficient in writing optimized SQL queries for Informix database.
- Knowhow of Unix is important.
- Shell/Perl Scripting knowledge is required.
- Troubleshooting, Problem resolution, root cause analysis skills are much required.
- Candidate should be willing to learn, analyze the code (including the Database side] explore and build the documentation to help sharing of knowledge.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required as job responsibility demands the interaction with customer & business.
- Past hands-on experience on handling production incidents with quick reactivity is appreciable.
- Knowledge of Accounting, finance domain would be additional plus.
- Team work is very much required, as the coordination/synchronization is required with offshore colleagues.
- Based on the business need and criticality, the profiles should be open to on-call support and weekend work (if required)
Technology buzzwords:
- Monitoring and reporting tool.
- Tools: Tivoli performance viewer, Remedy, Word, Visio, Excel etc.
- Server AIX, Solaris, Linux & Windows Server
- Knowledge of Storage product suits like EMC (VMAX2, VNX 5000, Clariion - Cx4, Centera A33EA), NetApp (FAS 6000 series, FAS 3000 series, FAS 2000 series)
- Knowledge of Backup products like TSM, NetBackup, Networker.
- Database stacks like Oracle, MS-SQL, Informix
- Web & Middleware stacks like WebLogic Application Server, MQ, Apache, Tomcat, and IIS.
