Database Administrator - AustriaDatabase Administrator - A Database Administrator is needed for our client, a prestigious international Telecommunications company in Austria on contract basis.
Main responsibilities:
- Close liaison with our client’s OSS, RAN and Core customers in operational everyday activities
- Implementation, operation and maintenance of our client’s PMS ( Performance Management System) and a subset of our clients’ EMS products
- Close liaison with PMS product line on proactive and reactive support.
- Hands-on implementation of any our client’s PMS updates, patches, etc, as well as SUSE OS updates, patches,
- Close liaison with our client’s NE experts to ensure timely knowledge on any collection update needs.
- Hands-on implementation of any needed configuration update of collection templates as per customer SLA in lab and production
- Management of all PMS related customer documentation (product & site)
- Management of all scope CRs related to PMS as per technical scope
- Capturing of all (relevant) customer feedback
• The Expert shall take lead technical responsibility for PMS and EMS system, and shall take support/stand-in responsibility during holidays of 2 colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Good Understanding of perl, massive and time-critical data processing, java
- Good knowledge of Oracle administration, operations and debugging. Current version Oracle 11G
- Hands-on Expertise on SQL scripting
- Hands-on Expertise on Suse Linux Server Management. Current version SUSE Linux 10 Enterprise
- Good knowledge of OVO, Nagios, SNMP, File Formats, FTP, XML
- Root cause investigation with interface or DB performance issues
- Good Understanding of telco radio network components and management requirements
- Hands-on Expertise on IBM AIX 6.1,Oracle 11, IBM Cluster HACMP
- Hands-on Expertise on testing, patching and upgrading in a critical environment
- Excellent teamworker, particularly in cross – cultural teams
- Very good English in speaking and writing
- Ability to generate high-level and low-level design specifications for change requests, and forge
technical agreement with customer and product line
- Robustness to work in environments with limited information
- Willingness to occasionally work over-time (PMS is classified as non 24x7 critical tool)
- Permanent resident in Austria
