external Project 781
a Sybase DBA
Tasks:
• Responsibility for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks of SQL Server and Sybase databases
• Active participation in the resolution of system and performance issues
• Close working relationship with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments.
• DBA support for development teams and involvement in recommendations for new projects
• Additional function to provide advice and assistance in terms of developing and progressing the infrastructure environments, including the assessment of needs and recommend solutions in an Enterprise IT.
Skills:
• At least three years’ experience of Sybase ASE database and Sybase Replication
• Server administration ideally within the financial sector
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
• Good SQL and basic scripting language (Perl, shell) knowledge
• Positive is experience knowledge of Sybase Replication Server / Sybase IQ
Experience with MS SQL Server
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, high self-motivation
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and to manage issues and problems through to resolution
• Fluency English, preferably also in German
Time Line:
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 6 months with option on extension
• Workload: 100%
• Location: Zurich
