ORCA Solution AG based in Basel and Zurich offers their services in IT-Industry since 1987 within Banks, Insurances and many other branches. For our client we are searching with the openexternal Project 543
a DWH-Project leader
Contributes as a project manager in managing a business oriented project/release using the given framework (CMM based) that form part in creating the new data warehouse. Involved in creating effort estimations for new business areas.
Must/Nice to have/Soft skills and duration:
- must: Banking Business background with clear understanding of business processes and data in one or more areas (e.g. messaging, credit, trade, financial instruments, etc.)
- must: DWH Experience 5 years plus (understanding of DWH concepts and technologies)
- must: 5 years work experience as Project Manager
- must: Tool know how with ClearQuest, Requisit Pro, Quality Center, CVS, Clearcase and possibly with Oracle, Powercenter (ETL), Unix, Control M
- nice to have: German skills
- soft skill: good communication, team player, fast learner, can deal with pressure
- duration: approx. start beginning of January 2012, duration of first contract 3 to 6 months, possible prolongation up to two years
- volume of work: 100%
Activities:
- Definition of project plans, work break down structures and work assignment plans
- Obtain agreement with business on project timescale, cost and scope
- Budget definition and monitoring of budget during the project
- Reporting to management, sponsors, steering committee and other stakeholders
- Decisions on direction in co-ordination with BPL (Business Project Leader)
- Planning, monitoring and management of project risk, issues and corrective actions
- Ongoing analysis, planning and monitoring of change requests
- Facilitation, support and motivation of project staff
- Taking immediate measures to resolve conflicts
- Operating and Supporting the existing IT solution
- Ensure CMM compliance in the project for PP, PMC, Risk Management and other affected CMM
process areas
