We are looking for a Junior Unix System Administrator in the area of Zurich:Summary:
As an open minded Junior UNIX system administrator, you will integrate a team responsible for the deployment of critical bank messaging applications, based on Java and Weblogic. Your role will also include the writing of scripts in order to automate processes as well as to interact with the customer and follow-up on issues encountered.
Profile:
3 years degree or University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
2 to 5 years experience in UNIX environments.
Main responsibilities:
Participate in the deployment of the applications.
Write shell and/or Perl scripts.
Identify potential issues, follow up on them until resolution.
Interact with the customer, track, document and follow up on open issues.
Participate in the writing of documentation.
Skills
Mandatory
Good knowledge of a UNIX operating system, both at user and administration level (command line).
Extended experience in shell scripting
Good notions of networking, TCP/IP.
In depth knowledge of at least one programming language.
Optional
On top of the mandatory skills, the following additional skills are considered as an advantage, in order of importance.
Solaris specifics.
Knowledge of Weblogic Application Server deployment Perl scripting Java language knowledge Database administration/development is an asset (preferably Oracle) Secure networking and protocols (SSL) Websphere MQ
Languages
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Others
The candidate needs to be open-minded and like to work in a team.
Candidate should be an easy learner.
Good communication skills are required.
Ready to travel 4 days a week.
Professional experience in a banking environment is an asset.
