Key Responsibilities:
• Transferring / migrating data from third party systems into Partnered software, as per specifications and to the highest possible standards.
• Following customer-gathered specifications to amend and execute migration jobs. This activity may occasionally take place at the clients' site.
• The use of transfer scripts, techniques, tools and procedures relating to data transfers.
• Writing and contributing to technical documentation relating to data transfers
• Acting on problems that arise from data transfer work.
• Assisting with the checking of transferred data to ensure accuracy.
• Occasionally assisting other technical teams in utilising the skills of this role where required
• Ensuring that we deliver data transfers in line with live business operations, this means that weekend and evening working will be required at times for data conversions.
• Reporting potential risks and impacts as part of the data migration plan
• Comply with data security and ensuring that all migrations, communications and data processing follow the company's rules and standards
• Follow requests and complete tasks set out by your line or department manager. To provide them with timely and concise updates on the issue. These should be self-prioritised unless directed.
• You are expected to continually develop your understanding of our products and use your own initiative to do this. Training requirements should be discussed with your line manager.
• When running any changes to live data you will ensure a suitable backup of the data taken
• You will be responsible to read, understand and evaluate functional concepts within the electronic banking & corporate channels area and you will be responsible to define their feasibility.
• You will be responsible to create technical designs for future functionality, either within a team or as main responsible.
• You will implement & develop future functionality and enhancements within existing systems and there will be possibility to implement new systems from scratch as well.
• You will maintain existing code, keeping it operable and understandable and maintain a level of quality so that future changes and enhancements are easy in terms of flexibility.
• You will be responsible to maintain and manage application environments and their infrastructure components, enhance and/or keep their corresponding security-, operational- and other system-documentation up-to-date and work with the application team to improve service quality in production environments.
Mandatory Needs:
• An excellent working knowledge of:
o IBM Host Mainframe Technology (8+ years of Experience)
o OPC, Job Control or any other Schedulers
o Connect direct; FTP/SFTP
o Cobol, JCL, DB2, VSAM, REXX
o AS2, sFTP, EDITRAN, Netview FTP
o Schedule on demand
