The initial focus is on a significant new project to support on-boarding of a major new corporate client to the Agency Banking service and at the same time carry out a substantial upgrade to the IT platform used.
The candidate will have a minimum of 10 years relevant IT experience and with specific experience working on directly relevant financial services projects including banking and payment transaction services.
A high degree of technical knowledge and competence is required in IT technologies supporting retail banking transactions services including branch, ATM and debit card payment processing. Specifically, these include EMV Chip and PIN protocols, offline and online card PIN validation, HSM processing with corresponding cryptographic methods. Furthermore, candidates must have experience in Microsoft Windows Server Failover Clustering with SQL Server using SAN based storage.
Prerequisites for the role include the following:
BSc degree in Computer Science or Engineering
10+ years in a senior development/solution architect role working with:
- Microsoft .NET/C# SQL Server
- Windows Service design and development
- Windows Failover Clustering
- VMware vSphere and Metro Clustering
- Hardware Security Modules (HSM)
- Windows 10/Retail POS terminal development
- EMV Chip and PIN
- Online PIN processing
- Cryptography and key management
Strong visual modelling design skills producing high quality architectural schematics using tools including MS Visio to create:
- Overarching solution architecture design
- Database entity relationship design
- UML modelling including the use of sequence diagrams
- Process flow diagrams
Strong documentation skills using MS Word to deliver comprehensive and clear narrative to accompany schematics describing solution architectures
Experience working on critical banking and/or card payments systems High Availability and Disaster Recovery architecture design and implementation
Experience working with security standards including ISO 27001 and PCI DSS
Agile and waterfall development and implementation methodologies Development task sizing and estimation/assisting with project planning activities and development estimation
Experience of the following is highly desirable also: Thales Payshield 9000 HSM, Verifone Vx820 terminal development, Microsoft C++, ISO 8583 messaging, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, Azure DevOps
