DevOps Engineer - Puppet - Deployment Specialist - Linux
This is a genuinely fantastic opportunity to work for one of the most prestigious EU Institutions in Europe.
We are on the lookout for an experienced DevOps Engineer with a Bachelors degree + at least 7 years of specific experience.
These are long term contracts with a very high chance of renewal. The longer you work there, the more valuable you become and this means that you could stay there for years.

Essential Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in IT or related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Technical review, assurance and design for deployment
- Must have live UE/EU Confidential Security Clearance prior the start of the services
- Scripting of deployment (puppet, bash, RPM etC)
- Release promotion, release packaging and release deployment
- Linux- knowledge of RHEL 6.x/7.x administration, handling Linux services and filesystem management
- Puppet- Knowledge of Puppet 4 configuration management tool. Creating or editing modules, maintaining Hiera datasets
- GIT_ knowledge of version control principles for software release management. Knowledge of branching, merging and creating release branches/tags
Desirable experience:
- Maven (RPM Plugin and versioning basics). Basic knowledge on configuring pom.XML files for RPM
- Team Foundation Server for code management and release
- Bash Shell Scripting techniques
- YUM binary repositories configuration and RPM packaging signing
- DevOps principles and familiriaty with Continuous integration/agile development methodologies
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English is required (B2 or higher)
*note*. This would likely be initially remote, with the expectation to work onsite after the restrictions have been lifted.
