Hello, my friend! How are you?Well, I have a game server running on a VPS that is running over TCP ports .
I am facing DDoS attacks specifically on port 7172 and my server is getting down frequently.
The solution for my case should be (I really believe) an implementation of some kind of load balacing.
We create like 4-5 VPS (doing a reverse proxy on each VPS).
When any player connects into the game server, he/she needs to connect into the game through ips from proxy reverse (never from the origin VPS that is actually running the game) the origin IP should never be seen when connecting.
It’s very important to be sure that when the player connects into the game the connecting is estabilished on ALL reverse proxy ips (repeating: never showing origin IP)
In case, the player will be connected over 5 IPS, so if 1,2 or 3 IP goes down.. there will be no problems because the player is connected into 5 proxys.
