Resource 1 is seeking a Mobile App UX (user experience) Designer for a 3 month contract with our client located in downtown Chicago. This position is immediately available as our clients team is at capacity and they need additional help. We are looking for someone who has experience building a commercial grade, multi-functional app that can be deployed to both Android & iOS platforms utilizing Xamarin for UI development. The selected person will be building, from scratch, a University App for the Full Student Lifecycle. Some of the app features will include a pre/post admissions, student calendar, student orientations, open house events, alumni events etc. Candidate must be able to create requirements design, build out user stories, wire frames, meet with the users, and do high-level UX design and Journey mapping. Candidate will need to have excellent communication skills as they will be working with Ph.D. s, Deans and other high-level C Suite individuals, at a graduate college. Any experience designing mobile apps in the education or health care space would be a big plus. Client would like to have a 1st release ready to go for the Spring 2020' semester. If the candidate does well on this first app, they do have 3 more apps that need to be designed as well, so this assignment could be extended for most of 2020. Client prefers local (Chicagoland area) candidates. Work will be on-site at first to meet with users, and team, then some remote work for this assignment is an option. Candidates will need to provide example/portfolios (link to websites/apps) they have designed.
