Flint is a provider of professional services including: Specialist Consultancy, Managed Services Specialist Resourcing to the telecommunications and IT sectors.
For our client we're looking for a Software Development Engineer to develop and implement Software Defined Networks.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully manages customer relationships on delivery of Professional Services.
- Supports delivery of service program in Telcos.
- Performs analysis of complex software defined network designs.
- Generates standard project documentation including detailed test plan for complex networks.
- Generates network orchestration from Low Level Design for software defined networks.
- Plans and executes complex Software Upgrade and Network Migration activity.
- Leads network design workshop.
- Contribute to customers knowledge through the delivery of Knowledge Transfer Sessions.
Required Skills
- Languages: English and Italian, both mandatory.
- 3+ years of experience developing software applications using Java, Python, JEE, and WebServices.
- Experience with networking and network management concepts are mandatory
- MPLS L2VPN and L3VPN network services understanding are mandatory
- Knowledge of Cisco and Industry Cloud computing (ie Openstack, VMWare, AWS), Data Center, Virtualization, NFV and Networking solutions.
- Good exposure to Scripting technologies (Python, Salt, Ansible).
- Experience with Object Oriented programming
- Exposure to technologies such as Netconf, YANG, JSON, XML, REST, and Erlang are a plus
- 2-3 years of in-depth, hands-on experience with provisioning/fulfillment systems
- Working knowledge of standard bodies such as ETSI, OPNFV, ONAP, MEF and IETF.
- Working knowledge on Cisco NSO is very desirable
- Working knowledge on Workflow manager systems
- Excellent understanding of the IP technologies, protocols, network topology and network management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts including virtualization, web services API's, elastic infrastructure, distributed data storage (database, block, object), multi-tenancy, and metered usage patterns.
- Good communication skills to include: conflict management, negotiation, presentation/demonstration, and written communication.
- Accountability and self-motivation mandatory.
Preferred Skills
- Cisco, VMware, Linux Certification would be preferred
- Exposure to Itential Pronghorn
Experience
Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus 2-5 years' experience in network Consulting or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree is also preferred.
