Job Title: Desktop engineer
Position Type: Contract
Location: Vienna, Austria
- The candidate should have more than 5 years of hand on experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- His/her role would be to package and deploy applications and packages, write and deploy PowerShell scripts when needed, completely own the Microsoft and third party update deployment process with SCCM and have good knowledge of operating system deployment with Task Sequences.
- The candidate should have good knowledge of Windows Group Policies (GPOs) with focus on desktop and laptop computers and management of security features of the most current Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience installing, configuring customizing, upgrading troubleshooting and managing software systems;
- Experience of ITIL and knowledge of industry best practices and IT infrastructure security;
- Familiarity with monitoring systems similar to those used in the IAEA infrastructure such as Microsoft Systems Centre Operations Manager;
- Ability to automate administrative tasks;
- A working knowledge and hands-on experience with Scripting language;
- Ability to provide 3rd level support to Service Desk in response to work requests and incident reports; this will involve understanding customers' requirements and dealing with them to solve problems;
- Experience with managing virtualized network infrastructure based on VMware, Microsoft or Client technologies;
- Proven ability to write technical documentation;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills are preferred;
- Problem solving skills: Ability to identify technical problems and to propose sound solutions;
- Knowledge sharing: Capability to effectively communicate technical information within a team environment; and
- Willingness to perform after hours support, configuration changes, and upgrades as requested.
