Medical Advisor/ Medical Science Liaison (m/f/d)

Main tasks:
  • Development of the local Medical Strategy and Medical Plan within the therapeutic area related to cardiovascular, lipid and metabolic dysfunctions 
  • Provide medical and scientific expertise to projects and support related activities such as educational programs, satellite symposia and communication campaigns
  • Implementing the local Medical Plan 
  • Support cross-functional activities and support the appropriate use of the clients products within clinical practice and patient pathways 
  • Identifies and communicates key clinical and research issues and insights from industry leaders to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development, and strategies for investigational and commercialized products
  • Contribute to the development of the Brand plan
  • Increases the clients visibility among leaders in the relevant therapeutic fields
  • Identify, develop and maintain successful relationships with regional and national scientific leaders, clinical investigators and institutions including local scientific organizations in order to achieve mutually agreed upon objectives (i.e., investigator-initiated studies, publications, medical education etc.)
  • Enhance the clients image as an advocate of medical advancement by using knowledge of product, disease state (and pipeline products) to engage healthcare providers in meaningful scientific exchange of information. 
  • Participates in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations in medical meetings, and other appropriate venues (hospitals, clinics) to enhance product and disease state knowledge
  • Support the local evidence generation program
  • Collaborates with clinical team to coordinate and optimize educational and research support for sites/investigators participating in Amarin's clinical trials
  • Maintains clinical knowledge of treatment trends including current treatment strategies, current and pending competitors, and new therapeutic developments
  • Understand the competitive landscape well and provide medical input with respect to competitor landscape and scenario planning
  • Provides effective training and clinical presentations to internal colleagues as needed and tailors presentations to meet specific needs of the audience
  • Providing medical input into regulatory and / or reimbursement assessment submissions
  • Providing strategic medical review for promotional & non-promotional materials and communications


Main qualifications
  • Life science, biology or biochemistry degree (acadamic degree, preferably PhD, PharmD or MD degree)
  • Experience in medical affairs (MSL and/or MA)
  • Cardiology, especially Lipid and/or Diabetes experience strongly preferred 
  • Result-oriented, as well as independent and self-reliant working style, high teamwork ability and ability to build and entertain networks
  • Proven project management skills and experience in working in a multi-stakeholder environment consisting of internal and externa experts 
  • Understanding of compliance environment and relevant local codes of practice
  • Thorough understanding of the local healthcare system
  • Fluent English skills written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel within the country
