For our energy client we are currently looking for a Senior Data Lake consultant

Additional Sites: Essen, Nottingham (50 percent Travel)

Background: This role will help to define high-level logical data-lake architecture based on requirements of major stakeholders in two geographic locations (regional units) as well as central requirements shared between the two regional units.

Tasks:
- A central technical infrastructure is in place and this logical architecture will sit on top of the existing
technology / cloud stack.
- Definition of ownership of various roles, including authorization, governance and target operating model will
be required.
- Examples of tasks will be:
o Collecting requirements from the key Stakeholders (both technical and business
related) for the Data Lake
o Reviewing / redesigning existing Data Lake: structure, data provisioning processes and data distribution
processes
o Acting as a single point of contact for data lake / data staging related activities
o Providing input for the optimization of the existing platform

Support data modelling activities / data flow designs and meta-data management tool (Erwin or similar tools: Enterprise Architect, E/ R Studio, etc.)
o Support in defining solid Interface contracts between source systems, integration components and the consuming applications

Define the use cases for the Data Lake
- Review / Redesign existing Data Lake logical storage definition and architecture
- Define the patterns of data provisioning processes to Data Lake
- Define the patterns of data distribution processes from Data Lake to the downstream systems
- Provide the baseline to set up the Data Lake support organization
- Analyze and document the existing data integration with Data Lake
- Define the segregation of duties to ensure that the Data Lake is compliant with GDPR and other regulations
- Support for definition of the data architecture within the data programme
- Support for management of the metadata within the data programme

Skills:
- 10-years experience roles focused on building strong, consistent data capabilities
- Strong experience in large multinationals within agile environment (SAFe)
- Strong skills in designing / building Data Lake /Data Warehouse solutions
- Strong Data Architecture experience: data modelling,defining data standards,managing meta data
- Experience in designing integrations between the systems, ideally in SaaS model
- In-depth understanding of at least one of the major systems in the landscape (Salesforce Sales and Services;
PowerCloud; Gentrack-Velocity; OpenText)
- Deep understanding of software architectures and solution integration based on SaaS
- Strong Data Lake / Data Warehouse skills
- Data integration experience, ideally in SaaS model
- Experience translating business requirements to Data Lake requirements / architectures

Nice-to-have:
- Utility or energy sector background
- Experience in systems like Salesforce Sales/Service, Gentrack Velocity, PowerCloud
