Michael is happy to present a Fullstack Python Developer role for a large re-insurance institution based in Zurich for an initial 6 month contract.Key duties and responsibilities
Design, efficient, testable, reusable, and reliable code (on premise and on cloud (Azure or AWS)) in Python
Implementation and maintenance of the Front end and Back end of the computationally intensive applications
Implementation and design of the solution on the cloud
Working with the team of very skilled numerical programmers
Working on a solution which uses Linux, Docker, JupyterHub, Numerical Programming
Working with Data Storage solutions (PostgreSQL, Redis, Oracle)Required experience & competencies
Essential: Thorough knowledge of Python and Docker
Essential: 5+ years professional experience building complex, highly scalable backend application
Experience with .Net/C# and VBA
Several years in Financial Services industry, preferably Insurance/Reinsurance
Numerical programming, simulations and algorithms skills (pySPy, NumSpy·
Advantage: Building solutions on Azure or AWS cloud
Using an ORM like SQLAlchemy
Firm grasp of OOP & SOLID design principles expertise
Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
Proficeint understanding of Git and DevOps standards
Working with SCRUM or other Agile methodologies·
Asset management is an advantage
Advantage: Building big data application (Spark, Hadoop)
Very good knowledge of English, German skills of advantageRequired Education
University degree in computer science or holder of an acknowledged IT diploma. Alternatively, degree in business administration, mathematics or other with subsequent profound IT education and training.
