We are urgently recruiting for an Experienced Teradata Database Administrator to support the Teradata environment that will include configuration, administration and maintenance of non-production and production environments.
This position must have advanced working knowledge of Teradata RDBMS at both physical and logical levels. Typically this role supports multiple, technically complex, mission-critical, and/or high-profile Projects. This individual must possess strong Administration Skills including the ability to make sound Database recommendations.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Creating/maintaining roles and profiles and assigning them to users
- Creating Users, Databases and other objects
- Create/contribute in creating and implementing new concepts
- Assist in Workload Management, PDCR, DBQL and Viewpoint modules
- Assist for implementing retention and archival using TARA for archive and restore also need Netbackup knowledge
- Work in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
- Monitor and analyze the database activity, mix of queries/jobs, query/job priority, etc and Managing CPU,I/O, Spool and memory resources Exposure to Load utilities like TPUMP, FastLoad, FastExport, MLOAD and TPT Exposure with TDCH
- Manage/Monitor system performance, including workload management and throttling in TASM
- Manage/Monitor Query performance and tuning, physical node behavior, and amp distribution
- Consult on physical database implementations, PPI, skew analysis, join methods, and data access
- Work with Teradata GSC and Managed Services INDIA in resolving RDBMS related incidents.
- Provide weekend/off hour Support as required ( usually 1 weekend per month )
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and Oracle Data Integrator
- Experience with resusage and reporting on it
- Experience with RLS or DSA is appreciated
Your qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Teradata experience in an IT department, preferable in the financial services or telecom industry
- Advance Teradata Certification preferable TD14.x or higher
- High knowledge of Teradata Systems and Teradata related products
- Profound knowledge of SQL and Query Tuning
- High level of communication and facilitation skills
- Team player, service orientation, high level of commitment and motivation
- Analytical, result-oriented and structured way of working
- Good knowledge of ITIL is appreciated, but not mandatory
- Fluent knowledge of English; German is appreciated, but not mandatory
- High-level problem solving and technical experience
- Extensive experience in administering large databases
- Expert understanding of business application
