Autoscout24 GmbH: the largest pan-European online car market Munich
· Fostered FinOps transparency and developed an AWS cost break down dashboard: collected stakeholder
requirements from engineering managers, heads of tech and accounting, then made the analysis
and implemented the tool
· Championed FinOps frugality and optimized AWS spending by designing a commitment strategy
· Led my team to take ownership of production critical infrastructure and halve its AWS costs
· Set up, on-boarded and led a new fully remote 7-person team distributed between Munich and Barcelona
· Led a 4 person team to successfully carve-out parts of the Scout24 platform when Autoscout24 split

of performance marketing systems, integrated among others in the Ghostery extension

streamlining and automating the deployment process

· Created a 4 person data engineering team, responsible for processing terabytes of data with MapReduce
on EMR and developing an internal tool for job scheduling based on Luigi and mrjob
· Reduced the monthly data-processing related infrastructure cost by 20000 EUR(-50%).
· Created a 3 person DevOps team, that assumed the operational responsibility of a large-scale distributed
system running mostly on spot AWS instances, that served at pick 500K daily active users
· Expanded the DevOps team responsibilities to monitoring, alerting and managing the AWS infrastructure
with a yearly cost of $1.5M
· Motivated the above teams through positive, hands on leadership
· Interviewed tens of candidates to grow the Cliqz from 10 to 120 team mates from over 30 countries
