I have been working in the engineering profession for 10 years + and more recently as a Senior Engineering Draughtsman as Autocad and Revit draughtsman and mentor to new students who enter the company, teaching them company standards, basic Autocad know-how and guiding them in the basic draughting standards of the industry. During this time I have worked on many large projects in the areas of HVAC, large municipal wet services, refrigeration, and industrial drafting for large corporate clients, both internationally and locally) as well as for large scale municipal waste disposal infrastructure and water treatment facilities. In many cases I have worked as the main draughtsman on the project, as well as coordinating information flows between members of the design team such as engineers, architects and sub-contractors. In all these cases using Revit and Autocad and Navisworks as a Clash Detection facilitator.
In addition to the above, I have used my experience as a yoga instructor in the past to offer a free yoga class to staff on Wednesday lunchtimes, as a fun initiative and a bit of a diversion from the norm in their work week.
On 11 May 2018 I was invited to represent “Women in BIM” on a panel hosted by Modena Design Centres. The aim of the breakfast was to “Inspire, Support and Celebrate women in BIM”.
