We are looking for a senior consultant to support our Release Managers in a large scale IT project at our client Nokia Networks in Munich.Starting: asap (Mid/End of November)
Duration: until June 2015, optionally longer; Fulltime.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Release Project Manager in running the meeting and reporting cycle:
facilitation and minuting of Release specific meetings; follow-up on the status of action items, decisions and escalations
preparation of Release progress, status and topical reports; analysis and consolidation of Release
specific input from status reports of project teams
support in the development of communication materials for internal and external Release related communication
Monitoring and control Release execution on weekly basis:
tracking Release progress; preparation of critical path and delayed activities analyses
follow-up with project teams on deviations from plans and status of corrective actions
tracking deliverables completion and readiness for project life-cycle gates
support in the identification and analysis of Release specific risks and issues, and monitoring of response actions
coordination on important topics, drive topical ad-hoc initiatives and deep-dive analyses on a need
basis by request of Release Manager
Coordination of planning activities for the Release:
coordination of detailed schedule and resource planning with project teams
preparation of scope and schedule baselines
resolution of scheduling interdependencies between project teams
Supporting the Head of PMO in different project management areas on a need basis.
Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in Release Management of large IT projects
Knowledge of Project Management processes and understanding the right sequence of steps and how different parts “fit together”
Experience of working in Project Management / PMO roles in an IT project (preferably a large scale one)
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Ability to work in a complex, multi-national project environment
Ability to self-organize in an environment with fixed tasks and ad-hoc tasks with continuously/changing priorities
Ability to follow up on multiple issues with multiple people for multiple topics in parallel
Ability to consolidate inputs from various contributors to one consistent view
Tool Skills:
MS Project: Good skills.
MS Excel: Good skills. Ability to handle and analyse bid amount of data.
MS PowerPoint: Basic skills sufficient.
MS SharePoint: Basic skills sufficient.
Advantageous experience and skills:
Experience of working in an SAP project (preferably dealing with SAP ERP Accounting modules) having gone through an “end-2-end cycle” from requirements definition and blueprinting till cutover, go-live and handover to the use.
