DOCSIS Project Manager - Austria
€ per day - Contract 2-3 months likely to be extended - Must be English & German speaking
Work as technical project manager based in Vienna Austria, the successful candidate will join the European Professional Service Delivery Team reporting to the customer's Regional Program Manager for Cable DOCSIS IP Edge Deployment.
The primary responsibilities will be:
- To coordinate with the Customer Regional PM, in house customer technical teams, internal teams, and deployment subcontractors to organize and execute the upgrade of the Access network by deploying new CMTS systems and coordinating re-segmentation work.
- To document the deployment process currently in operation into business work flows. The candidate will be based onsite at the customer location in Vienna and will be fluent in German and English.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Customer Regional PM, internal Departments (local regions, build departments, HFC Engineering, IP Network Operations, IP Engineering, Corporate CTO, IP Address Pool team, CMTS Engineering) and external partners, to execute the upgrade of the Access network by deploying new CMTS systems and coordinating re-segmentation work.
- Prepare Node plans based on the input of Capacity Planning and/or Engineering.
- Preparation includes - CMTS and CCAP layout on the basis of Channel-Setup and Templates, Slot and Connector assignment
- Create and update project plan/time lines for CMTS installation related activities which includes: Rollout Plan (eg Software upgrades, configuration changes ),
- Migration Plan and Steps ( eg DS/US upgrades, Cell Splits, New Builds, C4 to E6000 Migration,..)
- Resource Plan (incl. personnel resources, holidays and bank days)
- Raise and manage associated Change Requests
- Use Internal Monitoring Tool
- Create playbooks and agree with/submit to partners
- Update Documentation
- Document the deployment process currently in operation into business work flows.
Job Description
- Manage project budget as directed by the customer program manager, ensuring accurate forecasting of risk, resourcing, financials and schedule.
- Perform project planning, tracking, and reporting. Maintain project metrics, communicating project status, issues, and requirements both verbally and in writing.
- Serve as key escalation point for all technical and logistical issues during an active project.
- Support the company's business teams to identify further opportunities to support the customer's business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Computer Science or Engineering.
- PMP/Prince 2 Certification or Equivalent required.
- Has a background in Professional Services/Consulting/Working for themselves.
- Is a project manager with experience of DOCSIS, HFC and Optical Deployment projects
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project and project metric tracking.
- Expert knowledge of ERP systems as it relates to product deliverables.
- Experience of documenting Business Process Workflows.
- Experience on DOCSIS CMTS deployment
